Natya Taranga

Natya Taranga trust (R) Sagara, was founded by Guru Shri Vidwan Janardhan and Smt. Varadambika in 1992. It was established to facilitate pure classical dance in the rural parts of Shimoga district. Under the creative leadership and able guidance of Guru Janardhan Natyaranga has been fulfilling its aim and has made its unique Identity in the field of dance education and performance

The Space

The students of Natyataranga are facilitated by its own space for regular classes. Also, Natyatarnga has its own well equipped auditorium “Nritya Bhaskara”, which can house upto 250 people.

The Performing Group

Natyataranga has a strong performing group which showcases performances as per the nature of the event, be it- National and International Music festivals, Community and Religious events, Art in educational institutions, Corporate events, Conferences and Conventions, Television and award ceremonies, Charity and Fund raiser events etc.

Guru G B Janardhan

Born in a highly cultured family in a small village near Sagar, Guru Janardhan was passionate about
Indian art and culture. His thirst for this world of art made him learn Bharatanatyam and complete his proficiency grade. 

His special interest in Bharatanatyam made him learn many styles like the Mysore style, Thanjavur style, Kalakshetra style, and Bharathanrityam. Through his studies, Guru Janardhan has developed an authoritative hold on the theoretical aspects of Indian classical dances, Indian mythology, Arts and Culture.

He has proved himself as the best dance teacher through his unique teaching methods and encouraging students constantly for the highest achievement in the field of Bharatanatyam. Guru Janardhan has been blessed to have great dancers as his Gurus and mentors. To mention Guru Janardan has been trained under Guru Shrimati Srivalli Ambarish, Guru Shrimati Narmada, Professor and M R Krishnamurthy, and special training in techniques of Natya Shastra by the legendary dancer Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. 

He was honored that he had opportunities to perform with his great guru Dr. Padma Subramaniam in her productions. The family has been a great support to Janardhan for his achievements. His wife Varadambika Janardhan has been providing constant support and encouragement by actively participating in his activities through costume design and event management. Two daughters Vid Samudhyatha and Vid Samanvitha are following in the footsteps of their father in the field of Dance.
